The process to an amazing piece of jewellery created by Matt begins with a personalised design consultation (free of charge) in our Coffs Harbour studio.

This typically takes up to an hour, if you have an idea in mind, it is recommended that you bring along any images that capture your imagination. However if you are unsure, that's fine too.

Similarly, if you have any existing pieces of jewellery that you would like to use for materials, it is important to also bring these with you on the day.

Matt will discuss a range of aspects with you from aesthetic preferences, sentimental or emotional influences to lifestyle or occupational considerations.

He will then consider structural integrity into the mix and begin to formulate design options.

Usually he will begin with a hand drawn sketch, and then later may create a digital design to assist with finalising the design and quoting.

Once the design and quote have been agreed upon a 50% deposit is required for materials to be ordered and / or work to begin.

Time frames can vary so it is important to discuss this at the time of your consultation.

It is recommended that you allow 4-6 weeks for most custom jewellery commissions.
